The one-day AMLS instructor course is designed for health care providers who have
training in the treatment of medical emergencies and who hold a current AMLS provider
card. This course reviews the cases taught in AMLS from an instructor point of view.
Teaching strategies and adult learning is discussed and review in group discussion and
problem solving scenarios. The AMLS course structure and course preparation will be
discussed. A teaching practicum is required and must be completed within 90 days of
the instructor course.
Objectives:
- learn to teach the AMLS cases
- understand adult learning styles
- develop teaching strategies
- understand the American Heart Association philosophy
Required information:
Students must be a current AMLS cardholder. Copy of AMLS Provider Certification must be included with instructor course registration form.
Students must be currently certified as an EMT Intermediate, EMT Paramedic, Nurse,
Physician assistant or MD.
